Bill and Rae Grout working together as Aspen Hot Glass, left their technical careers to pursue their passion. Bill, a former aerospace mechanical technician, began working with glass in Montana in 1993. Rae, inspired by Bill’s journey, joined him in 2002.

Together, they create a variety of glass art, including pendants, ornaments, drink ware, bottle stoppers, pixie orbs, collector marbles, and cabinet knobs, alongside Steampunk inspired journals, metal and wire-woven art pieces, and mixed media constructions.

Rae is the author and illustrator of the Punk Shop Dragon book series inspired by a dragon she drew for their company logo named Harmony, who helps them blow their glass. We tell our costumers each piece of art is made with Love and Harmony.

Our Corvallis home has fantastic views overlooking the Bitterroot Valley of Montana, with several buildings dedicated to our work from home lifestyle. The Steampunk Shop is Rae’s creative space; the Torch Shop is where we blow our glass, and the Big Shop is for general mad science.
